- I would like to import drugs and medical aids in Macedonia. Where can I obtain the relevant licenses?
Issuing of licenses for trade with drugs and medical materials is within competence of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Macedonia (http://www.moh.gov.mk). Any importer of such goods in Macedonia needs to be registered for such an activity and included in the list for registered importers. In addition, each specific import of a particular drug is a subject of licensing at the Ministry.
- I’m interested to start a business for production of colors that should be used in the textile industry in Macedonia. I would like to import raw materials from a CEFTA 2006 economy (Serbia). Do I need a specific license for the import of the chemicals for production of colors?
The import/export of chemicals is a subject of specific regulation in all CEFTA 2006 economies and therefore, licenses apply to most of the items under this category. More specifically, the competent institution in the Republic of Macedonia for import licenses of chemicals is the Ministry of environment and spatial planning (http://www.moepp.gov.mk/). However, there is a possibility to obtain the import license through online system - EXIM, which offers electronic submission of the export, import or transit requests by the business community, as well as electronic issuing of licenses by the competent institutions. The applicants can also follow the status of processing of their requests up until the issuing. More details about EXIM could be found on the following link: (http://www.exim.gov.mk/EILWeb/startPageLicenci.jsf)
- Is it possible to check the current status of the tariff quotas (total and remaining) applying to the trade of Macedonia and other CEFTA 2006 economy?
Macedonia has an electronic system – EXIM (one stop-shop system for import, export and transit licenses, and tariff quotas in the Republic of Macedonia). EXIM has a search-engine for the “tariff quotas” that provides information which import tariff quotas and from which economies are available for allocation. This engine includes CEFTA 2006 economies, as well. More details could be found on the following link: (http://www.exim.gov.mk/EILWeb/kvotiPropisani.jsf?token=de8f7c5f1f1aa366b99d0b82d34a5e30)
